Piazza Del Campo in the medieval town of Siena (40 miles south of Florence in Tuscany.  This is the "must see" town in Tuscany.  Don't forget to try the famous Panforte (try the chocolate variety, "al cioccolato").

Original sixth century mosaic in the cathedral of San Vitale in Ravenna, Italy.  The figure in the middle is the Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian, who had then just reconquered Italy from the Barbarians.  (Ravenna was the capital of the Western Roman empire when the Western Empire fell in 476 A.D)

Original sixth century mosaic above the main alter in the cathedral of San Vitale in Ravenna, Italy.  This is of early Byzantine style; Christ is depicted in the center (without beard).
This is the Baptistry, Duomo (cathedral), and Bell Tower (the leaning tower, of course) in Pisa.
Michelangelo's famous David in the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.  This museum no longer allows photograghs to be taken (this one is taken legally!)
